Escalade Recontextualization: A Graduate Study
Recontextualization is often used in design to conjure thought and reveal deeper or additional meanings. For this study, the objective was to display one product using the design strategy of another product. My choice was to sell the Cadillac Escalade utilizing the design aesthetics of Luvs brand diapers. The point of the graphics is to exemplify the most basic functionalities of each product and convey what they have in common. The garish concept speaks directly to the multiple wastes carried and created by each while striving to keep the viewer oblivious of their preeminent effects.
